Starlink portability: use your Internet in other locations

Starlink portability

For an additional monthly fee ($25 per month for users in the U.S), the portability feature allows users to temporarily move their Starlink to new locations in order to receive service anywhere on the same continent that Starlink provides active coverage.

When you activate portability, you are billed on your next monthly bill. Portability is billed in full monthly installments and cannot be prorated. The portability feature and billing charges will continue until you choose to turn it off.

Being an active customer allow you to activate portability immediately from your account page.

If you have multiple Starlinks, portability must be selected and purchased for each location.

Starlink prioritizes network resources for users at their registered service address. When you bring your Starlink to a new location, this prioritization can cause service degradation, especially during peak usage or network congestion.

Portable users can expect lower service levels than fixed users, especially in areas marked as "waiting list" on the Starlink availability map (Starlink portability map).

As stated earlier, Starlink portability allows users to use their Starlink terminal in other locations, users will have less priority on the network. If you are going to be in a different area for an extended period, Starlink asks you to change the location of your registeredservice address to ensure the best experience.
