Starlink is a satellite internet provider enabling high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity across the globe.
Elon Musk promises to launch more satellites, install more ground stations, and improve speed, latency and uptime.
Starlink website claims that standard customers “can expect to see download speeds between 100 Mb/s to 200 Mb/s and latency as low as 20 ms in most locations.”
In reality, Starlink internet speed test reported by users ranges from 50 to 200 Mbps, and some of them randomly experience slower speeds due to network issues.
Starlink Business promises 150–500 Mbps speeds and more consistent service. But Starlink Business is much more expensive.
Starlink internet speeds are also known to fluctuate or drop out completely, depending on your location and to possible signal obstructions.
To check your average speed (download & upload), run a few speed tests from the Starlink App by selecting the "Speed" icon on the home screen.
while your Starlink is connected to the Starlink WiFi Router, you can check Starlink statistics like speed, outages, alerts, uptime, and latency. You can review stats through the Starlink App or through web browser (192.168.100.1 or dishy.starlink.com).
